If you are on line to watch Taylor Swift cheer from a suite at Arrowhead Stadium tonight, stay on line. Despite a viral document claiming otherwise, the singer and Travis Kelce have no plans to break up anytime soon.
Earlier this week, a photo of something titled “Comprehensive Media Plan For Travis Kelce’s Relations Following Breakup with Taylor Swift” was shared to Reddit in a post that has since been deleted. The document featured the logo for Full Scope, the PR company that represents Kelce, which I guess was enough to make people think it could be real.
The chatter got loud enough for Full Scope to shut it all down. “These documents are entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorized by this agency,” a representative for the agency said in a statement to People. They also said they had been in contact with Reddit’s legal team “to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents.”
Wow, serious! Not to brag, but I knew immediately that this was fake. For one thing, the fake document that the team would post the breakup statement “on Kelce’s official website and social media channels.” He doesn’t have a website, and if these two break up, we’ll find out from a source close to Swift in a respectable tabloid like People. Plus, if this sort of document were to actually exist, it would definitely be coming from Swift’s camp, no? And it would be printed on the red paper that Christopher Nolan used for the Oppenheimer scripts so that no one could photocopy it.
Besides, they wouldn’t break up now. The NFL season starts tonight in Kansas City, and USA Today is reporting that “the odds for Swift attending are likely.” Sounds like love to me.
