It started at Luar where, amid everyone trying to get a photo of Beyoncé, I noticed a pair of white thigh-high furry boots paired with liquid-leather minis and cutout knitwear. Then I saw a guinea pig-like ballet flat at Simone Rocha. The model was holding a furry lamb (poodle, sheep?), and her feet were full-on fluffed in brown hair. The trend continued with blue shag shoes at Jil Sander, black fur pumps at Aknvas, and maroon-feathered mules at Ferragamo. So, would you wear a hairy shoe?

Footwear is camp again! In what might be the chicest way to dust your floors, furry shoes are available to shop now. If you dare to experiment, below are gray shearling ballerina flats from Hereu, feathered kitten heels from Sam Edelman, bouclé mules from Jeffrey Campbell, and cozy lamb flats from Bottega Veneta.

Something shearling

You’d be surprised how wearable a shearling shoe can be (don’t get caught in a rainstorm!). Jeffrey Campbell’s mules can easily transfer into spring and early summer, while Burberry’s would pop against an all-neutral look.

A few feathers

For a touch of impishness, a feathery shoe is an instant spirit boost for any outfit. From Sleeper’s slip-on sandals to Sebastian Milano’s evening-ready ostrich heels, there’s a feathered footwear option for every style.

Furry business

If you’re on the hunt for an affordable version, look no further. Zara’s faux-fur flats are crafted in a bold red, with a rounded toe and double straps. For added height, Mango’s creamy fur iteration is set on a four-inch stiletto heel. To dive into comfort, Hereu and Larosa have a slipper silhouette for easy strolls.
