Landed in Tirana, taxi to Shkodra. Minibus to Lake Komani, ferry trip across the lake. An amazing walk over to Tethi , one day on the beach and then we finished our trip in Kruja. Friendly people and good food everywhere.

Frank, I saw you were in Belgrade. I think it has some nice restaurants and cafes downtown, but yeah, it can still be a bit gritty…true travel. I hope we four can get together again sometime!

Let others go to the usual places like Prague or Paris, lovely places but….if you’re going to travel extend yourself once in a while, that’s what it’s about.

We’re in Belgrade, Serbia as I write this. It might not be the most beautiful place but I remember why we love the Balkans so much: authentic experiences, nice people, inexpensive…and you don’t run into the same bunch of selfie-taking tourists you see in the more popular places. Love it.
