That was a great series and very informative about travel in Mongolia. I hope you get to Mongolia someday!

Mongolia reconnected them with how life can be just as fulfilling if you strip it down to the bare necessities. I would love to do this trip, especially the kids.

Sherry,
Jim didn’t mention it, but we actually booked all but our flights through the UB Guesthouse. Bobby the proprietor speaks perfect English and is the ultimate hostess. So follow the link and set up a trip with her. We didn’t actually stay at the guesthouse, we stayed at a hotel down the road while we were in UB, but she set that up as well. Yes, we did the Gobi in nine days. However, if I had more time I would also do a trip north to Lake Baikal as well. We stayed every night that we were on the road with nomadic families. It was fantastic! They were all different, but all were very open and welcoming. They did not speak English, and we didn’t want to bother our driver anymore to translate for us, but we muddled through. One hint: We thought we would have ample opportunity to listen to local music, but only had the chance the very first night. We almost turned it down because we were so tired. I’m glad we didn’t; it was one of the highlights. If you have any other questions, ask away.
Corinne

I plan on going in July this year. Can you provide the name of the tour operator you went through? Was 9 days enough to get out to see the Gobi? Did you stay with nomadic families? Thanks!
Sherry
