Sharon, We walked. We didn’t take any taxis or buses, but there were plenty. Just remember the buses stop running in the evening around 6pm.

My abiding memory of Brunei is of the very friendly and smiley people. I also went to the water village and arranged for the taxi boat to pick me up later allowing me time for a wander around. At first I felt a bit self conscious as you are so close to people’s homes that I worried that I was intruding but they get so few tourists people were coming out to chat, smile, wave, hold my hand etc.

It’s definitely worth visiting on a trip to Borneo.

Marisol, Exactly! I think we made the right decision, because I love seeing a place at night and eating at hawker stalls is a must! It was where we really felt we got to see the people!

J, Do! It was a nice little stopover. We’re glad we did it.

Mary, I was also surprised with the river front. The whole place was not really what I expected…except for the mosque!

Steph, Yep! One day will do it. I really, really enjoyed the boat ride and the Royal Regalia Museum. Did you do those?

Noel, I don’t know if it should be the top of the list, but we have a great time!

Agness, The most expensive part was getting there at over $100 each, but most everything we did was free and food was cheap. I’ll have to look up the hotel. I think it’s worthwhile if you are in Borneo.
