I love Bavaria but haven’t visited Berchtesgaden. It must be a very interesting place to visit, especially since it was the scene of so much terror. It’s hard to imagine now, seeing that beauty, what a horrific time that must have been.

Loved the geography in Bertesgaden, beautiful area. The Eagle’s Nest was closed when we went but we took a boat tour of gorgeous lake Konigsee which we really recommend.

It’s always so shocking to me how a place so, so beautiful was at one time the centre of all things evil. I have had that feeling many times when visiting Germany and Austria. Still it’s good to visit places like these!
