Anna Delvey and her bedazzled ankle monitor are pressing on in their never-ending pursuit of a check. Starting later this month, the socialite grifter turned socialite again will compete on the next season of Dancing With the Stars alongside Tori Spelling, rugby star Ilona Maher, pommel-horse king Stephen Nedoroscik, and Bachelor star Joey Graziadei.
Isn’t she on house arrest? you might be thinking. True, Delvey — who was found guilty of scamming investors and banks out of over $200,000 in 2019 — is still technically confined to wearing an ankle monitor indefinitely while she appeals her deportation case. But that hasn’t stopped her from wearing pussy bows to immigration hearings and filming promos for a USA game show. According to “Page Six,” she was recently given a social-security number, permission to legally work in the U.S. and return to social media, and the ability to move freely within 75 miles of her home — which is now her publicist (and reality TV’s reigning PR queen) Kelly Cutrone’s house in upstate New York. She and Cutrone also run their own PR firm, People’s Revolution, and have carved a space in the Altman Building in Chelsea for Fashion Week.
And now, they will somehow find a way to have Delvey film Dancing With the Stars within the radius of her house arrest. Los Angeles, where the show films, is 2,445 miles from New York, and Delvey’s rep hasn’t commented publicly on whether her conditions have changed; ICE did not return the AP’s request for comment. After the cast was revealed on Good Morning America, Delvey told The Hollywood Reporter that she “got the permission from ICE” to participate on the show “and then it was kind of too late to back out.” She told the press her ankle monitor was “pretty light” and won’t affect her choreography and that she plans to “have some fun and maybe get in a little workout.” Sounds like she’s got it all figured out.
